All childcare practitioners are welcome to attend the
Childminding Matters 22nd Annual Conference
The Ramada Hotel

Boundary Road, Norwich, NR3 2BA 15th May 2010
9.00am - 3.30 pm.

This conference offers an excellent opportunity to gain new knowledge, meet up with colleagues and share good practice. There will also be plenty of stalls with books, early years resources and childminding “tools of the trade” for sale.

Our keynote speaker will be Kathy Sylva OBE, who is Professor of Educational Psychology at the University of Oxford. She has carried out many large scale studies on the effects of early childhood education and care on children's development and also studies ways to support early literacy through school and home-based programmes. She has been one of the leaders on the Effective Pre-school, Primary and Secondary Education (EPPSE) study, and on the evaluations of the Graduate Leader Fund and the Early Learning Partnership Project.
Kathy's keynote speech will be on the theme of:

Quality' learning experiences in group care and education'.

Four workshops will be offered:

  • Enabling care contexts in which children thrive - Kathy Sylva

  • CAF Training Taster Session - Mandy Marriott-Sims

  • Safeguarding Children (Child Protection) - Jackie Leech & Deborah Hartland

  • Assertiveness for Childcare Practitioners - Richard Maun

  • Each workshop will run over 3 hours, so delegates will attend one only.

Registered Childminders are offered the 'early bird' rate of £22 per person if you book before the 16th April 2010 - so book early and save money!

Childcare Practitioners @ £27 per person
