Child Care In Norfolk Introducing Childminding Practice

Child Care In Norfolk Child Care In Norfolk This is a course for Childminders and other Home-based Childcare practitioners. This course is funded by Norfolk County Council and meets specific statutory requirements for home-based childcare practitioners seeking childminding registration and applying to join the voluntary part of the Ofsted Childcare Register.

Training Provider: Childminding Matters
Cost: Free

Candidates undertake a 12 hour paediatric First Aid course, delivered over two Saturdays, followed by the Introduction to Childminding course (ITC) delivered over a seven week period, six evenings and a Saturday.

Course length:A seven week period, consisting of six evenings and a Saturday -

22 hours in total.

Weeks 1 - 6 7.00pm - 9.30pm Week 7 9.30am - 4.30pm

  • Early years Foundation Stage(EYFS)
  • Support for Childminders
  • Working with parents
  • Supporting children's social and emotional development
  • Health and safety and risk assessments
  • Equal opportunities
  • Children's behaviour
  • Child development and play
  • Child observation and planning
  • How to manage your business
  • Safeguarding
  • Multi agency working
  • Reflective practice
  • The course will consist of a mixture of group activities, discussion and scenarios and it will give participants the opportunity to share ideas and experiences.

    Additional Information:The Early Years Foundation Stage, welfare requirement: Suitable People requires childminders to complete this course within 6 months of becoming a registered childminder and hold a current paediatric First Aid course at the point of registration.

    The voluntary register requires prospective home childcarers to have successfully completed a relevant level 2 qualification as a minimum or meet the Common Core of skills and knowledge. This course meets the requirements of the Common Core.
