Norfolk Childminding Network
From 19th December 2009 a new Quality Improvement Framework will replace the current "Children Come First" quality
assurance scheme.
Norfolk County Council is implementing the Quality Improvement Framework in partnership with Childminding Matters to
assist childminders to deliver the free entitlement and to enhance their professional development and the quality of
their provision alongside other childcare providers
Norfolk Childminding Network membership is open to all registered childminders resident in Norfolk and/or caring for
children, who are resident in Norfolk, provided they meet the criteria for network membership.
Before applying to be a member of the network, a registered childminder will need to have a relevant level 3
qualification and an Ofsted inspection grade of Good or Outstanding.
Relevant qualifications are listed on the CWDC "Qualifications list for those delivering the EYFS". (If in doubt ring

The childminder will need to complete an application form to join the network and agree to all the terms and conditions of network membership.
Once a member of the network, the childminder will be able to apply to join the Directory of Providers and once accepted to the Directory of
Providers they can offer the free entitlement for 3 and 4 year olds.
